Programs and Services

"Just Between Us" Mentoring Program (JBUMP)
The JBU Mentoring Program is designed for at-risk females to promote positive relationship development and intergenerational bonding between youth ages 10-18 and mature, experienced women. 

Youth Personal Development Program
Youth Informational Seminars
Quarterly training sessions for youth ages 10-18, geared toward building self esteem and skills to facilitate postive peer selection.  
Future Seminars: Dates to be announced. 

Educational Support Programs
The Educational Support Program consist of three service components: Youth Tutoring Program; OGT Tutoring & Preparatory Program; Computer Training Lab; and a School Supply Center.

Youth Tutoring Grades K-8 
A “homework help” program, with a focus on reading comprehension/language arts and math, currently for elementary and middle school students. Tutoring provided every Thursday, October - May, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Walk-ins accepted.  

OGT Tutoring & Preparatory Program
13 week tutorial program for 10th, 11th, & 12th grade students living in the target community and scheduled to take the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) in March.  
08/09 Program Period:  December 4 - March 7 

Computer Training Lab

Quarterly basic computer hardware and software training classes for all ages. Classes offered in February, May, August, November

School Supply Center
Free school supplies.  
Center open every Thursday, October - May, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.  School supplies and book bags provided in August.

Building Tomorrow's Leaders (BTL) Academy
Five (5) week summer program for middle school students offering social, educational and recreational activities.  
Summer 2009: July 13 - August 14
Tuesday-Friday 8:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m.
This program will be implemented pending funding approval.

Eligibility Criteria for Above Services
Must be a resident of the BCDC target community (first priority).
